Lori Hanson, MA, LADC, Program Administrator
Lori is the administrator, men’s counselor and a licensed alcohol and drug counselor-LADC of Divine Hope Counseling. As administrator, she strives to address the complexities of addiction treatment and recovery across the continuum of care. Personal strengths include meeting needs of others in their path of recovery, being open to options and helping others perceive and gain self-empowerment through coping skills gained through personal strengths. Lori received her Master of Arts degree as a licensed alcohol and drug counselor with Hazelden Graduate School of Addiction Studies which provides an available network of outstanding addiction professionals who are in the forefront of knowledge, skill and leadership in the addictions field. The experience at Hazelden provided Lori with knowledge of addiction science and research, Twelve Step methodology, counseling approaches, strategies, knowledge and skills necessary for working and growing as an addiction professional. Lori states she believes her passion for her profession lies in helping others gain insight toward thoughts and emotions, following through with discernment and choices, and avoiding impulsivity, you know… “Shaking the Globe!”. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, and a Minor in Coaching and Reading with Moorhead State University. Divine Hope Counseling seems to have gained an anticipated community resource for nonresidential co-occurring substance use disorder treatment and in the past decade Lori relates how she has gained insight as to how insight to personal recovery can be reaffirmed and established with support and personal belief of success.
Jeanine Porter, BS, LADC, Clinical Director
Jeanine is the clinical director, women’s counselor and a licensed alcohol and drug counselor-LADC, of Divine Hope Counseling. As a clinical director, she is able to offer various kinds of therapy instructions that address the complexities of addiction treatment and recovery, provide necessary supervision and administration to employees, initiate and formulate treatment planning and discharge planning which assist clients in recognizing and assisting them through emotional/behavioral/cognitive conditions and complications of addiction. Jeanine states she believes her passion for her profession lies in helping others gain self-worth, self-esteem and self-confidence and partaking in the process of acceptance of others in their path of recovery. Personal strengths include listening skills, knowledge of the disease if addiction and being non-judgmental. Personally she loves to scrapbook, enjoys mix-media and candle making. She takes necessary actions regarding the administration of policy, procedures and state licensure requirements, works as the responsible authority for all aspects of program services, provide supervision in proper management to all professionals, staff, interns and volunteers; and supervise treatment actions for clients. Jeanine earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology and a Minor in Speech with St. Cloud State University and received her training as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor from Ridgewater College. Jeanine has been a licensed alcohol and drug counselor for the past 15 years with the State Operated Service, once known as the Bradley Center and now as Community Addiction Recovery Enterprise (CARE). Jeanine has been in the field of substance use disorder since 1996 and during this relates how she has gained insight as to how important it is to work with each person on an individual basis; each client has their own story to tell and hat coping skill with benefit their recovery. Jeanine chose to start a new chapter in her life as clinical director with Divine Hope Counseling in March 2009.
Tim Johnson; MA, LMFT
Tim has been working with children, adolescents and families for over 30 years. He received his Master’s degree at Fuller Theological Seminary in California and his marriage and family therapist license in 2000. Tim has been in private practice since 2010.
The focus of Tim's work over the past 10 years has been behavior and conduct disorders in children and adolescents, trauma, and marital therapy.

Tim's therapy approach is based on common sense, mutual respect, impartiality, and humor. His hope is that anyone who meets with him will sense the passion that he has in helping others accomplish the goals that they are seeking in their life.
DeAnna has innate abilities to help individuals explore areas of discomfort, such as stress, depression, anxiety, addiction, adjusting to major life changes, and exploring relational interaction options and to seek other areas for possible cognitive and emotional assistance. Great effort is incorporated with strength-based approaches which assist individuals identify changes to develop resilience and confidence with recognizing and incorporating life-essential coping skills.
It is essential that a friendly and welcoming environment is provided and DeAnna strives to help people feel okay with asking for help, or maybe even to identify what kind of help is being sought. By meeting individuals within their personal life’s journey, obstacles may be recognized and overcome within a genuine and nonjudgmental experience with DeAnna.
DeAnna is a mental health professional and gained her MSW, Master’s degree with social work through Fordham University in New York and her Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, LADC, through Bemidji State University. DeAnna has had lifelong experiences with helping people through varying stages of life.
DeAnna lives in Willmar, is married with three children. They share their family home with animals that are considered family members.

Katie Wagner, BS, LADC
Katie has been involved with the field of substance use disorder for over twenty-two years. Katie is currently an adolescent counselor, licensed alcohol and drug counselor-LADC, with Divine Hope Counseling. As a counselor, she is able to offer various kinds of therapy instructions that address the complexities of addiction treatment and recovery, initiate and formulate treatment planning and discharge planning which assist clients in recognizing and assisting them through emotional/behavioral/cognitive conditions and complications of addiction. Katie has worked with individuals in co-occurring programs, residential, nonresidential, correctional programs. Katie enjoys working with clients to exploring areas of growth, personal accountability, changes in thought patterns, identifying and building upon their strengths. Katie finds it rewarding when clients continue to build in self-confidence and hope for their future. Katie is passionate about the gifts and miracles in recovery.
Cheryl Walter, BS, LADC/Admimissions and Chemical Use Assessor (CUA)
Cheryl has been involved with the field of substance use disorder for over ten years. At present Cheryl is the treatment coordinator, licensed alcohol and drug counselor-LADC, with Divine Hope Counseling. As a treatment coordinator, she is able to offer various services and comprehensive substance use disorder diagnostic assessment that address the complexities of addiction treatment and recovery, care coordination of activity of daily living needs, medical coordination and other community service coordination and assisting clientele through emotional/behavioral/cognitive conditions and complications of addiction. Cheryl states she believes her passion for her profession lies in helping people achieve their optimum life experience in holistic and spiritual based activities and intervention. Personal strengths that she believes enhances her counseling include a solid spiritual base and personal belief with her Higher Power by applying personal beliefs in an everyday format supporting the dignity and value of people and meeting them where they are in their path of recovery. Personally she loves to do anything creative which include painting, crocheting, knitting, quilting and making masks. Cheryl studied with Saint Cloud State University and gained a bachelor of science in Psychology, her licensed alcohol and drug counselor-LADC with Ridgewater College. Her professional field has consisted of working with developmentally delayed, mentally ill and traumatic brain injured-TBI clientele and within these experiences, relates how she has gained insight as to how culture, abilities and disabilities create a vast array experiences to be learned from and create a teachable momentum.
Vickie is Office Manager with over thirty years of being involved in client-related fields. Vickie noted she has a passion for helping people, assuring a welcoming atmosphere and strives for connectivity and continuity. Meeting new people is a continual occurrence and she emits exuberance; noting she loves to meet new people and the progress people make along their journey of recovery. “I am a people person.” Personal strengths include loving to meet people, being organized, creative and has high energy. Personally she loves to be creative with crafts and projects, taking vacations, and being with family and friends. Skills in managing the office expounds through her ability to captain the ship and creating courses of success.
Kayleen, often goes by “Kay”, has been involved with the field of substance use disorder for over fifty years. Employed by the State of Minnesota as a Psychiatric Services Technician assisting adults in substance use disorder and mental illness and in corrections as a correctional counselor with adolescents, Kay stated she has only continues to gain passion with helping people gain an ability to leave the struggle with addiction and the heartbreaking consequences; with which she noted she personally identifies. Kay relayed she upholds spirituality and is open to helping others gain insight and connectivity with a personal higher power, as they understand it. She is also a person of integrity consistent with upholding personal ethics and morals, expounds with good interpersonal skills, enjoys learning, and is creative and compassionate. “I believe in respectfulness and dedication to follow the ‘right path’ in life. “ Personal strengths include integrity, good interpersonal skills, enjoying family, travel, beautiful scenery, gardening and creating a beautiful, serene, landscape. She noted she and her family are compassionate and believe that it is important to help others. Her skills as an office personnel provide consistency, continuity and a qualitative assurance to Divine Hope Counseling clientele and staff.
