Comprehensive Substance Use Disorder Assessment (aka CUA or Rule 25 Assessment)
Comprehensive Substance Use Disorder Assessment
Oftentimes, a court recommendation, referral from medical, employment, or personal initiation states that a Comprehensive Substance Use Disorder Assessment is recommended. A comprehensive substance use disorder assessment can be arranged by calling for an appointment. The purpose of the assessment is to provide the information important in identifying substance abuse risk and the type of service recommended. The assessment reviews age, gender, and Substance Use (SUD) history, symptoms of use, mental health history, treatment history, emotional/behavioral assessment, current stressors, employment, educational and financial assessment. Also reviewed is the current family and family history and family of origin section. If treatment is recommended, attention will be given to treatment placement so as to be placed in the best environment conducive to his/her recovery. Suppose a counselor possesses specific information or suspects a client may be abused. In that case, that counselor will contact the common entry point at MAARC and/or Kandiyohi County Social Services Vulnerable Adult Specialist for children. This will only be done if the client has given permission.
